Mud Tanks or mud pits can be fabricated in a variety of sizes as well as designs. After years of working on and with mud tanks or mud pits we have come to a few practical conclusions. 1) The more interior parts on a mud pit, the more the more parts that rust away which necessitates repair or replacement. A simple remedy to this problem is fabricating a new mud tank with pre-formed bent stiffeners on the side-walls. This eliminates the need for conventional bracing. The mud pit wall divider(s) with top tubular reinforcement will be sufficient support for the mud tank. 2) Is buying a used mud pit really going to save you money? Over the years we have spent months rebuilding mud tanks. The piping in the mixing tank needs replacing or re-configured, the boots are not in the proper location, the pump house is too small, holes must be patched, skids need stiffeners, handrails and floor need to be re-vamped the doors won’t work or need to be enlarged, old paint must be removed before re-painting, etc. Does this sound familiar? 3) If you are the one paying the bill, you may be paying to much. The short of it is, carefully evaluate your needs, a new mud pit may be a more cost effective solution! Click Here to Contact Us!
